Helpful review: "My wife bought this holster for me to try. I truly owned more holsters than anyone should. I have never been able to find a simple and comfortable shoulder holster for a subcompact. I have plenty of shoulder holsters for larger frame guns, but I’ve never been able to find one worth the money for subcompact. I am blessed to have a lot of experience with firearms, and have been fortunate to find many non-shoulder holsters that I use regularly for subcompacts. When I received this holster in the package, I was disappointed and completely unimpressed. it looked flimsy and cheap. BUT, once I enrolled it, put it on and slipped my shadow systems CR 920 in the holster, I couldn’t believe it. I have been wearing it daily for a week, and while I can’t speak to how well it will stand up to the torture I will put it through, I am shocked at how well made, comfortable and flexible this holster is. It does get a little hot under the band around the chest in the summer, but it is a minimalist design and what little area it takes up on your chest will be tolerable in hot weather. It works great while riding my motorcycle or even in my work shop. I will also say that drawing quickly from this holster will take a great deal of practice. Because of the way the gun sits perpendicular to the chess band/floor, drawing is not as quick as you would find with a shoulder holster that holds a gun parallel to the floor. So far the Velcro is held up extremely well, but again, there’s much more torture to put this holster through. I have chosen to buy a second as a back up for an M&P 2.0 40 Cal. For quickness, comfort, and conceal ability, the shoulder holster has way exceeded my expectations so far." — Probie
Trending review: "I'm a big guy with a big gun. I hated carrying on my hip, made driving and sitting uncomfortable. Was looking for a shoulder strap but was unsure about the looser hanging leather ones. This design is exactly what I needed. I wear a 3XL and the 51" strap fits great around my chest with room to spare, keeps super tight, and actually lets me carry my full size CZ-75 SP-01 and not actually feel it on my body all day. I wore it for about 10 hours today, and put up a tarp shed with the holster on, and it didn't hinder my movement or create any hot spots at all. I couldn't feel it all actually and was really impressed by how comfortable it made carrying my full sized steel frame gun with a full 17 round magazine. I didn't even feel the need to take it off when I got home, if I had to compare it to anything it would be a great knee strap that stays in place and does its job. One more thing to add, its basically invisible under a button up shirt or zip up hoodie. I wore a button up flannel over my shirt and it looked normal with no bulges. Nobody will be able to tell you are wearing this unless you specifically reveal it.
tl'dr: Great for Big and Tall guys, Great for 20 dollars, Comfortable, supportive, and concealing. Best 20 dollars I've ever spent on a holster. I don't know who owns the original design, but whoever invented this style did a great job." — Kayvon
Reassuring review: "Update 01/22/2024
I have been using this holster since August 2022 for my Ruger LCP. There has not been ANY issues for the past 1.5 with this holster. I recently acquired a Glock 43X. I used this holster for the 43X and again no issues. This holster has been amazing for me. Going to buy another one.
I have retired after being in law enforcement nearly 32 years. Usually carry an off-duty large pistol on the right hip, a Glock 17 and/or Beretta 92. Unfortunately, I developed bursitis on the right hip and very rarely wear a weapon on that side now. I bought this holster to see if it would be a nice underarm CCW. I have been wearing it daily for several weeks now. This holster is comfortable and does not leave an imprint. This holster will NOT hold a full-size weapon comfortably. It will definitely sag and leave an imprint. It does hold a smaller mid-size, and a compact very nicely. I carry a Ruger LCP 380 and do not know it is there. I also carry a Rossi 5 shot wheel-gun with snub-nose barrel. It also carries well.
One thing to remember, this holster is not a quick-draw holster. It is designed to carry your gun, that is it. If you want to quick-draw, do not use this holster, especially because it's main design is an underarm cross-draw. Make sure to wear this over a t-shirt. Definitely is more comfortable that wearing on your skin. Then I wear a button down shirt over it.
As for stitching, so far no issues noted. I am 6'01, 225lbs with a 48" chest. I got the bigger holster and have extra material to spare. The velcro straps and the stretchy shoulder strap are doing their jobs without issue. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. Plus the price is right..." — Sugarbear21

Helpful review: "I bought it for my twin brother and he loved it as much as me. It's beautiful. Looks great and adjusted to his shoulders. No bad smell and it fit most hand guns as we have a few lol truly a great find and best thing I could have got for him for our bday!!! Fair warning ⚠️ any mods you have most likely will NOT fit, the holster is not made for tactical carry or have the space for majority of mods, huge gamble. It fit his glock9. Hope this helps huge win" — Bri
Trending review: "I wanted a well made vertical leather shoulder holster that took the weight off my waist and abdomen. I had major abdominal surgery and this product is excellent at placing the weight of my edc and spare mags on my shoulders. Easily adjustable and reasonably comfortable. Very good leather work. Highly recommended." — Gary Machen
Reassuring review: "I tend to prefer belt holsters, but wanted to try this shoulder holster.
The leather is nice and the holster holds a G19 nicely. The belt straps do a good job holding the holster in place through a draw.
I have two major concerns with the holster design:
1. The strap that holds the gun is not a thumb break. To disengage the strap you have to reach over the gun, hook your fingers on the strap and pull your hand away from the gun to disengage it, then reach back to grab the gun. I might be able to relearn the drawstroke to make it work a little smoother, but I'm not sure I want to do that. The conventional way to build a shoulder holster with a strap is to have a way to disengage the strap in the same motion as the draw. A thumb break allows you to pop the strap free as you are getting a firing grip on the gun instead of adding additional back and forth motions to the drawstroke.
2. Even after adjusting the fit the gun tended to want to swing away from my body. If I'm wearing a shoulder holster I want the gun to ride next to my torso, not flop out and away.
A lower priority concern is that I don't love the "gun bucket" type holster that can work with a bunch of different guns. I prefer holsters that conform to the shape of the pistol. That said, with the guns I've tried this holster does well enough." — BDS

Highlight: High Quality Material:Medical grade breathable elastomer holster which is durable and flexible, non-toxic/safe and easy for concealed wearing suitable for all kinds of pistols, easy to pull out.

Helpful review: "VERY comfortable to wear. Against skin does cause sweat and that seeps through to firearm. Started wearing with an undershirt day of this review and is much nicer...checking....firearm is dry. The concealment of a shoulder holster without having to wear a jacket. I wear dress shirts over it and visually you cannot see it. Nice to have now that bleating little marxists might stop by to buy an argument at my cheese shop or across the street at the ministry of silly walks. Fits my Luger LC9s very well. Have not tried larger units." — Hari K.
Trending review: "Fits well under an outer shirt for concealment. Weapon is very close to the body so it does not print. My Ruger 9mm concealed well under an untucked loose button down shirt. MY Springfield Hellcat concealed well under a loose fitting polo shirt even tucked in. The only negative may be that it takes significantly longer to get to your weapon then it would in a holster. However, being a large guy, I will sacrifice the "quick draw" of a hip holster for the comfort of being able to carry my firearm all day with no problem." — Donald Adamov
Reassuring review: "First off I would like to say that this reminds me of a back support device but with gun pockets, lol. When I began to look for a double holster all I saw were 250-dollar leather holsters. I was glad to find an alternative to that price. I have a couple of lightweight pistols of the same caliber about the size of a medium 1911. They fit snugly into place in this rig and it is comfortable to wear. Warning, if you are pot-bellied like me you may want to fit it as loosely as possible so that it doesn't make your belly look twice as big. I would not call this a fast-draw holster by any means, but it will hold my pistols securely with no worry. My only complaint is that there is no place for a couple of extra clips.
There are a couple of small pockets in back of the pistol holsters but they will not fit a larger clip, mine are double-stacked clips. That being said, I believe that I will buy some good elastic and see if I can get the wife to make the clip holders. Let me tell you that for 15 bucks I just don't know how you could go wrong with one of these. Thanks for making and selling an affordable holster!!!! Oh, and the seller got this to me very quickly. I would not hesitate to buy another if needed." — Reddawg

4. UTG - Deluxe Universal Horizontal Shoulder Holster

Best Shoulder Holster

Highlight: This black, universal horizontal shoulder holster has a modular design for both left- and right-handed users, padded shoulder, and two magazine pouches. Its universal design fits most popular pistols and revolvers, and the holsters' soft lining protects your firearm's finish. All components are fully adjustable for a custom fit, and Velcro straps attach to a web belt for optimum holster and pouch tension.

Helpful review: "First let me state that for the price this is a great product. Is it top of the line? No, refer back to the first sentence. Does it do what it is intended for? Yes.
Fit: I am 6'0" 225 with large chest and shoulders. Fits just fine. If you are the anal kind and are surprised that an item bought unseen does not fit to the precise parameters you wanted then you may want to go to the local gun/sporting goods store and try some on until you find that exact perfect one. If you are like the rest of us and can deal with some imperfections then this holster will be OK for you
Weapon: I have carried both a Colt Commander and a Glock 19. No issues. The Colt does fit "deeper" into the holster that the Glock but there are no issues with drawing the gun. Keep in mind that this is a tactical holster so there is not only a thumb break but some Velcro to get through before the gun comes out but it can still be done it one movement with one hand.
Quality: Seems fine. Time will tell but... look at the price. If you are expecting this to last for 15 years of daily use you will probably be disappointed. If, like me, you are just planning to use this a couple times a week or when you get tired of your belt holster and want to switch it up then this will work just fine.
Final note: If you are worried about "flagging" people behind you BUY A VERTICAL HOLSTER IN THE FIRST PLACE. That is for some of the other reviewers that are morons." — SD2133
Trending review: "This is a good beginner holster, especially for the price. A little bit of customizing helps a lot.
Pros:
+Very cheap, perfect for someone looking to try shoulder carry before committing a couple hundred bucks.
+Fits me comfortably at 6'0" 350lbs
+Very universal, you can easily set this thing up however you want for pretty much any pistol.
+No more fiddling with mags, belt, holster, and gun before leaving the house, just throw this on and put a coat on.
+More comfortable to carry IMO, and you don't even notice the 2 extra mags you bring with.
Cons:
-Draw is significantly slower than hip carry and requires retraining.
-Much harder to defend from a physical attack while drawing and from the shoulder and presenting.
-Harness doesn't really support the weapon well enough to adjust cant
-The retention is inconsistent because it is universal. Sometimes my rear sights snag really hard in the holster.
-The tie down straps are not removable so you either have to find a way to secure them or cut them off if you don't want to use them.
-Saying it is Law Enforcement grade is a joke. LE would buy a nice leather holster for over $100, custom made for their pistol model.
Tips:
I tried conventional thumb snap and I found it was less consistent and took a bit longer to draw. I modified the thumb break a bit with a tiny bit of kydex and some glue (but anything stiff will work). Now I have a stiff "extension" on my snap like you normally see on a snap holster. I also flipped the snap to the outside of the weapon. Now when I place my hand on the butt of the weapon it automatically unsnaps and is ready to draw. No more trying to hit the snap with your thumb before drawing. I found that this change and modification easily doubled my draw speed. Hopefully this helps someone else out." — O
Reassuring review: "I got this holster because I was looking for another carry option and it was cheap. While it does what it's supposed to, both pistols I tried (full-sized and subcompact) seem to flop around a lot under my arm when I walk, and the way it attaches to my belt with velcro leaves something to be desired as far as stability is concerned. This holster seems more suited for airsoft guns than actual tactical or daily carry situations, but works fine for occasional use.
When I first got this, the shoulder strap felt a bit odd, almost like it was backwards. Fortunately the magazine pouch and holster are clipped onto the shoulder strap and can be removed; I switched them up and sure enough, it fit much more comfortably.
On a positive note, the materials seemed pretty durable for the most part, the inside of the holster has soft padding that won't scratch the finish on your gun, the fastener that holds the pistol in place secures the firearm well, and the magazine pouches work great with my 17 round 9mm clips." — RC21920

Trending review: "I've tried several of these holsters and so far this has been the best one. For bigger folks there is plenty of Velcro strapping to go around the check and the over the shoulder strap is easily adjustable.
I've been wearing for several days and at times I forget I have it on, which is what I want." — marke50
Reassuring review: "This thing is great, shoulder holster part works good but I have found best way to use is around the waist just above the bellybutton, strong side or cross draw very comfortable no problem wearing all day, no place for extra magazines but if your situation is bad enough for more than one mag best thing you can do is stop shooting an run!!" — Floyd Pepper

6. Cardini Leather - Shoulder Holster Made with Premium Colombian Leather

Top-Rated: 356 ratings

Best Shoulder Holster

Highlight: The holster rotates with the firearm inside to either be parallel or perpendicular with your body, includes slots for two extra magazine clips, and has adjustable straps and belt attachments for customized fit and convenient use.

Helpful review: "This is an outstanding shoulder rig. I’ve been using shoulder holsters for years and the Cardini is much more comfortable and hangs better than any Galco product I’ve ever used. For the folks having issues with the size, it’s new leather and has to be broken-in. I am 6’3”, 230lbs and my chest is 48”. Yes, I had to use the furthest adjustment hole to get it to fit right, but it does, and it’s extremely comfortable to wear. I highly recommend purchasing this holster!" — Greg
Trending review: "I really wish this was bigger. The craftsmanship is exceptional and with good size rivits too. So with time they dont wear and pull through, I wish it was larger... I'd imagine it would be very comfortable over the shoulders due to the quality leather and width of the straps.
This XD Holster is made for someone 160-180lbs maybe a bit more. I'm 6'2" 230lbs and it's pretty tight and I can barely reach my gun." — Matthew ryan
Reassuring review: "I was looking for a shoulder rig and came across this one. It’s priced significantly lower then the name brands. It ended fitting great for my Glock 17. The mag pouches fit the 17 round magazines tightly at first and have loosened a bit for the better.
The tilting holster makes drawing the gun easy. The snap is perfect for the Glock. There is no way the gun is going to fall out." — M G
